Porta patet, cor magis - the door stands open - more so the heart. This is a well-known monk's salutation with which pilgrims and guests were welcomed in monasteries of the past. We in Irsee Monastery hope to further this salutation.

The historic architecture of the former imperial Irsee Monastery nowadays houses the Swabian Congress and Education Centre Monastery Irsee. Since it's opening in the year 1981, the house has achieved an internationally renowned reputation as a centre for forums on economics and politics as well as a meeting place for interactions among scientists, artists, and musicians.
Besides our 81 comfortable guest rooms, there are 13 individually equipped conference rooms of various sizes in the meticulously restored baroque ambience of the former Benedictine monastery. With modern equipment, these rooms provide a functional as well as festive setting for any kind of conference, from an intimate seminar in one of our ateliers to a symposium or congress in our festive hall, which offers space for up to 200 participants.

You may have your meals served to you in our restaurant, or breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets can be planned with you for your function. We readily offer you individually composed lunch and dinner menus. Festive rooms - the festive room in the former library, the auditorium in the former cabinet of natural history, the reception room or the room of chapters - offer you an exquisite frame for special occasions such as banquets, receptions and candle-light dinners. The chef and the manager of the restaurant will be pleased to advise you on your menus or buffets. The rustic monastery cellar in the vaults offers the opportunity for a jovial gathering. Sauna, pool, table-tennis and boccia allow for a relaxing conclusion to your conference.
The picturesque community of Irsee with its inns and small art ateliers -in the foothills of the Alps - offers an good starting point for walks and excursions into historic Swabia as well as the mountains, castles and lakes of Allgaeu.
